An offline-first attendance system in Urdu, built for Jamiatul Madinah, a girls' school in India

PWA · Education · India·2026·1 week

The problem

Jamiatul Madinah, a girls' school in Aurangabad, was tracking daily attendance by hand on paper, slow, error-prone, and impossible to review over time. Any digital system also had to work entirely in Urdu for the staff using it, and respect both the Gregorian and Islamic calendars for scheduling and holidays.

The solution

A fully Urdu, right-to-left PWA that installs straight from the browser like a native app. Class representatives mark students present, absent, or excused with one tap, even with no signal, since attendance is saved locally first and synced the moment the connection returns. Every screen shows both the Hijri and Gregorian date, with a manual correction built in for local moon-sighting announcements. One shared login, no training required.
